AI search (search that writes the answer for you)

Japanese AI検索

AI search is a kind of search where AI finds and reads web pages, then writes an answer for you with links to the pages it used. Answers can be wrong, so open the sources to check anything important.

AI search does more than list links: AI finds and reads several web pages and writes the answer in sentences. It is like asking a librarian, who skims a few books, tells you the main points, and shows which books they used. Google Search's AI Mode, ChatGPT search, and Perplexity are examples, and for a hard question some of them split it into smaller searches and run them at the same time.

Watch out A source link next to an answer does not mean the answer reports that source correctly. Open the source page yourself to check numbers, dates, and prices. Google also says you do not need special files or markup for your website to appear in its AI features; the usual basics for being found in regular search are enough.
